   I had been considering buying either a Blentec or Vitamix blender and had saved up the money to buy the Vitamix the beginning of June when a good friend send me a link to Woot suggesting I buy this blender instead. I am so glad I did. I have used it every single day since I bought it. I tend to use the middle container of the blend and go. Easy clean up, everything is blended, no chunks. No leaks. I love that I push the button and walk away. This thing is LOUD. Scared the beejesus out of me the first time I used it and thank goodness for the suction cups to keep it from jumping off the counter. It also fits under my cabinets. If you love smoothies, buy this blender.

   After watching the demos for the new Ninja Duo blender system at International Food Blogger’s conference this year, I was pretty excited to find out that I had won the drawing to receive one of these bad-boys for myself! My old blender has seen better days, so the timing couldn’t be better. I have a slew of recipes I want to try out, and the unit came with a beautiful little cookbook, but I’d promised my daughter that the first thing I’d make would be our traditional blackberry-banana smoothies, which we make from the berries we pick here on our little farm. While probably not the fanciest thing I’ll make in the new Ninja, it’s a treat we make often here, and would be a make-or-break recipe for any blender in the Perkins’ house. Needless to say, the Ninja Duo passed the test with flying colors. It’s triple blades and Auto-IQ blending made short work of my smoothie ingredients, finishing up in about half the time that the food-processor took on the same dish. The frozen berries, which sometimes bogged down the Cuisinart, pureed with no noticeable effect on the Ninja. Another thing I love about this machine is that it comes with the Nutri Ninja feature, a separate single serve cup attachment with it’s own blade. I think this would be an ideal set up for families who have food-allergy issues, as they could use the the smaller Nutri Ninja blender cup solely for non-allergen foods, helping to reduce the risk of cross contamination when the larger unit is used for foods that some members of the family may need to avoid. Oh, speaking of the larger blender unit, another awesome thing about the Ninja is that it’s capacity is great enough to make enough smoothies (or anything else) for the whole family.    I already own a Ninja Blender that I just love and cannot live without! I needed another for my brother who was about to have some major dental surgery and would be unable to eat “normal” foods for several months. It made perfect sense to get another Ninja This blender is a step above mine and holy moly I am impressed! We have pureed all types of things that we had no idea we would be able to. We have blended scrambled eggs, oatmeal, breads and have even cut up chicken and pork chops as tiny as we possibly could and then added veggies and protein powders. It blends all this up perfectly smooth. Since he is a severe type 1 diabetic, it was imperative he be able to get the best nourishment possible. This blender has been a Godsend and has allowed him to “eat” / drink without any problem. His dentist was taken aback at how good he looked and asked how he managed to not loose any weight. He told her all about this Ninja blender and how amazing it was. She asked for details and said she would be highly recommending this Ninja to all her patients that would have this type of surgery.    My son has one of these and when I saw that it had 3 blades, I was over joyed and I knew I had to have one. Every few months I blend spices together to make what Puerto Ricans call “Sofrito.” The main ingredients to this blend that I use are: onions, green peppers, grarlic and cilantro. There are a few other things added but those are the main ones. I was asked to make “sofrito” for one of my brothers and the quickness in which this Ninja blender blended everything together amazed me. I threw away the other blenders I had because they do no compare to this one at all. Highly recommend.

   I like it. But it’s not as amazing as I had expected. I have had an old school blender for years, used daily for protein/greens, and occasionally for other stuff, so I needed something that would have enough power for regular use and to handle daily ice and greens. This definitely does! So that’s great.

   The main thing I don’t like about it, however, is that it’s so powerful, that when you turn it on, it sprays all your ingredients all over, and thus there are always chunks that don’t get well blended at the top/sides of the container. I’ve also noticed it actually doesn’t seem to blend things as smooth as my old blender either, which seems strange considering how many blades it has and it’s power. It’s like it chops more than blends, perhaps, which isn’t ideal for smoothies. Maybe I still need to mess with my settings to find a good combo of speeds for my purposes. We’ll see… overall, it’s nice, not perfect.

    One of my best purchases of the year. When we first received it I made smoothies, soups, salad dressings, sauces and then at the party I made Sangria and Margaritas!! I rocked this thing hard the first week and one of my neighbors tried to take it home with them. I just directed them to ninjaoutlets.com to get theirs. I had an old Jack LaLanne juicer but (bless his heart) it did not hold a candle to this. This is so much more than just a food processor or a mixer. It can pulverize food (any food) to liquid and if you don’t think that there was enough pulverizing on one setting, use the pulse until it is totally liquified. Nothing is wasted. It comes with recipes to make smoothies, soups etc. but go online, there are plenty there, too. I would recommend this for people who want to be healthy and get the most vitamins and minerals from what they would normally eat. A drink of fresh vegetable or fruit juice in the morning is energizing. It came with 2 containers that you can blend and take with on the go! Easiest machine I have ever used! I doubt if I will ever use a plain blender again.

    Holy cow is this thing loud. I swear it annoys my whole building when I use it, but nothing that I can do about that. The power is no joke. I started adding fruit juice and smoothies to my daily routine and this thing turned the rock-hard seeds in my cactus pear fruit into tiny flecks (which was a little annoying since I had planned on straining the seeds out) and pulverizes the steel cut oats I add to my protein shakes.

    I also haven’t been able to just buy the “food processor” attachment separately, so I have used the cups to make hummus and OMG, Best. Hummus. Ever. It shreds the jalapeno peppers and everything in seconds to make silky smooth hummus….I absolutely recommend.

    I would add one caveat, make sure you inspect the large pitcher when it arrives. My first one had a hairline crack in the base and had to be sent back. ninjaoutlets.com sent the replacement before I sent mine back and I inspected it prior to swapping it out. It may seem like a small thing, but the force at which this blends will effectively render the large pitcher useless in a few weeks with any cracks.

    I have used this blender for over a month now. It is everything I hoped it would be. No wimpy motor here. This blender will crush and blend anything. The three sharp blades spaced out on the central shaft can make short work of food that other blenders lock up on or slow down.

    I love to make smoothies, with this blender I can throw anything in and it comes out smooth.

    If I had to give one criticism it would be the noise level. Yes, it’s noisy, but it’s worth it when it gives you so much power. It doesn’t take but a few minutes to make great smoothies and sauces.
