   Normal food processors have a hatch in the top so that i can add liquids to pie dough, make mayonnaise, and follow a hundred recipes that say “add liquid to spinning dry ingredients.” This one doesn’t. That makes it of little use to me. I saw a replacement on ninjaoutlets.com showing a lid with a hatch for $88. Seemed expensive, but it would at least make the processor useful. I ordered it, it came. Photo above shows the top–NO Hatch. I contacted the company that sold it and was assured (9 days ago) that a replacement would be provided within 5 workng days. None has arrived. I will return the item but of course that doesn’t solve the problem. Nor make up for ninjaoutlets.com’s false photo in the offer. I’m very disappointed and finding it hard to trust ninjaoutlets.com as I used to.

   Our original bowl took a tumble out of the dyer rack onto the floor. We used ours for making hummus, peanut butter, pizza dough, tomato sauce, and much more. We did our research in order to find the replacement bowl, but it was frankly very easy once looking over the machine and the bowl for the model. Don’t rush into buying one and be sure that it’s the right bowl for your base. This one came promptly and brand new with a new sharp chopping blade that we also sorely needed. For us this was much more affordable than getting a new machine and easy to do.

   Way too small to fit my machine. The unit sent was pristine and brand new, but the wrong size. I had contacted Ninja company for a replacement and was referred to ninjaoutlets.com as they no longer carry replacement parts only to find a single option available, but wrong for my needs. This is probably on me, not ninjaoutlets.com, just a warning to measure the base of the unit you need before believing it’s the correct one.

   Whatever you do, DO NOT WASH THE BLADE YOURSELF. This will be a dishwasher only item. I’ve washed the blades on my blender hundreds of times without issue. However, last night upon receiving I went to wash it and this thing gatted up my sponge and almost took off a huge chunk of my thumb. I spared you all the gory photo of my poor finger, but it was a murder scene in my sink. Just thought I’d jump on here as a heads up. Attached is a photo of the sponge RIP. Can’t speak to how it works, but I see there are plenty of reviews on that! Good luck!

   I love my Ninja, but after inadvertently dropping the 64-oz vessel, the plastic broke. While I understand that these things happen, I am disappointed that the replacement was available directly from Ninja. I was however pleased that ninjaoutlets.com had a supplier. I worry however that should I break the replacement vessel (hopefully never). another replacement may not be available.

    I’m writing this review hoping to save others from the frustration I’ve had with these. I’ve bought 2 of these now and both have failed the exact same way. The studs that hold the gearbox on break off after just a few uses. The roughest thing I’ve ever used it for was to crush graham crackers to make a pie crust. The last one I’ve only had 8 months and only used it 5 times during that time. Poor design, not a good value for the money. Like the title says, Works great, until it doesn’t.

    The Ninja is a wonderful food processor but the bowl does not last long with regular use due to the base breaking down where the screws secure the bowl to the mechanics that allow the blade to spin. My daughter has required a new bowl twice due to breakage. The replacement bowls are way too expensive in my opinion considering this is a ongoing design problem. Also, a new blade was not needed, only the bowl.
    ninjaoutlets.com only had one reasonable vendor offering the replacement bowl when I did my search and it cost around $80. These bowls need to be more easily available from more vendors at a lower cost, in my opinion, since they require replacement due to breakage relatively often–second replacement bowl I have purchased for my daughter who uses her processor frequently. The rest of the Ninja processor is excellent and I recommend this processor though the bowls have this problem

    Perfect for turning a Ninja into a food processor. There is no disk blade for slicing or julienning of veggies. Perfectly cuts up and blends flour, sugar, maple syrup and eggs into a super smooth Dutch baby. This is not a full boat food processor, but the blades do everything the blades of a regular food processor does, but I use a Mueller Multi Blade Adjustable Mandoline for those jobs. Great for two people. It would be nice if the top had a hatch or other type of medium size hole to add ingredients without taking the top completely off. It’s cover or door for the opening must be interlocked for safety. 4 stars for value due to high cost of the bowl or replacement blades.

    Really love this product however, this has broken on me again. I had to have a replacem On the 1st, now this will be the 2nd. I’ve had it for three years. It doesn’t get used often.
